Unrelated Words and their Relation

Hi all.... Long time since I posted something....I actually wanted to conceive something to write... But after reading many blogs, I finally got it that blogging is not about writing with substance. Any one having a net connection and the necessary devices to connect and type have the right to blog.
Why would I be an exception to this culture(?!?)

Couple of days back I drifted back in memory lane and reached the days when I actually was able to read a book for more than 1 hour before taking a break. I used to take up 'C' very seriously (for those non IT fellas... 'C' is a computer language). I was lost into a thought which I day dreamed in ma college days....

The thought:
I was trying to build a random number generator without using the already existing functions for it. I took the time/microseconds as input and calculated random number.... but was lost into another thought (guys don't lose me here... this is a thought inside the thought). The other thought was "Is not brain a big random number generator?". No one can predict what occupies ones mind at any given instant of time.

This was interesting (at least to me:)) The brain and a random number generator program was unrelated couple of mins back. But, now the seemingly unrelated things are actually related by this logic.

Coming back from the memories... I wanted to think of other seemingly unrelated things and their connection.

1. Idly & Engine:
Yeah. Thats the first I remembered. Some of you might have heard it....
excerpts from the speech of comedian Vivek....
"When Steam was invented/discovered... both Tamils and Englishmen were trying to put it to best use. After years of tiresome work/research the English invented the steam engine. And you know what the Tamils invented ? Idly!"

2. Water and Love:
Here is the connection I found between these two words....
It is considered sadistic if one is enjoying some one else's downfall. Many Kingdoms have risen and have fallen. We have seen many celebrities raise and fall ( did someone think of Ganguly? ;))
We have seen the twin towers fall.... none of this are enjoyable.
But what about Waterfalls and falling in love? Aren't these enjoyable? Yeah... thats the connection I see between these two words.

Then again... as I always do.... didn't look for the third pair, instead drifted off to another thought...
I quoted Vivek bringing out the difference between the English and the Tamils in his style....
Here's a similarity.
"Falling in love" in English is same as "காதலில் விழுந்தேன்(Kadhalil Vizhunthen)" in Tamil. Both cultures saw it as Falling!! alright, thats a different topic.... hence I end this post here.... :)
